to present an innovative approach to youth in the area who are interested in learning fiddle music at NO CHARGE. The CBFA and the province of NS are
sponsoring these workshops which will take place in five different locations throughout the province.
These lessons will be guided by professional and experienced teachers. They include,Boyd MacNeil, CBRM; Rachel Davis, Victoria Co.; Allison Kehoe,
Richmond Co.; Andrea Beaton, Inverness Co., and Kendra MacGillivary, HRM.

Did you ever wonder, “What is the difference between a jig, a reel, a strathspey?” or “What is the hop step?”. Have you ever wanted to participate in a Cape Breton
square dance but you’re not quite sure how it all works? Do you want to enjoy a great Cape Breton ceilidh with fiddle music and hospitality? Most of these entertaining and educational events are without fee and are designed for anyone wanting to understand and explore the music and dance of Cape Breton’s traditional celtic music.

We are very excited to share that the Honourable Keith Bain joined us at our Appreciation Banquet this afternoon to announce funding of $50,000 from the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism, and Heritage for the Cape Breton Fiddlers Association’s 50th Anniversary festivities! He shared remarks from the Honourable Allan MacMaster and the Honourable Pat Dunn after hearing some lively tunes from our members. The cheque was accepted by board member, Betty Matheson
